Sad Demise of Rev. Fr. Emile Mayoraz, our former Superior General

Fr. Émile MAYORAZ MSFS (01.03.1928- 30.01.2022) Born at Hérémence, Valais, Switzerland in a family of 8 children, of Augustin and Angélique Mayoraz. Minor seminary Villa Bonlieu Fribourg. Novitiate 1946 First profession 10.09.1947   Priest on 06.01.1953, not even 25 years old.                    Florimont school as warden 1953-54. Studies in Canon Law and pastoral ministry in Rome 1955-1961.               Rector of Fribourg scolasticate 1961-66           First Provincial of Franco-Swiss 1966-1977    Elected as the 12th Superior General 1977, 4 terms till 2001. General councillor and Admonitor 2001-2007, in charge of Chile Mission Postulator of the Cause of Fr. Mermier 2002-2008     Retired at Bonlieu 2008, entered old age home Les Bonnesfontaines Fribourg 2018 where he died on 30 January 2022.                         During his terms as SG growth of MSFS from 450 to 950 members. Big financial and spiritual support to all our Missions through Oeuvre salésienne des Vocations.
