Action Plan of Provincial Congress 2020 of Dibrugarh Province

We, the members of the newly erected Dibrugarh Province of the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales, gathered together in the spirit of prayer and discernment for the First Ordinary Provincial Congress through 1-3 December, 2020, with the theme: “MSFS Dibrugarh Province: Rooted and Formed in Charism, Committed to Mission” at Christashram, Teporgaon, Mancotta, Dibrugarh, Assam, have resolved to execute the following in the course of coming three years:

Religious and Community life

• Live the spirit and spirituality of our Patron as lived by our Founder (LC)
• Disciplined use of modern gadgets (LC)
• Emphasise team work in the communities (LC)

Mission

• Be open to expansion in Dibrugarh Diocese (PA)
• Expand our mission wherever the necessity arises and is viable (PA)
• Consolidate the existing mission centres (PA)
• Train and form Parish Mission Preaching (PMP) Team (PA)
• Establish/strengthen renewal centres (PA)

Formation

• Engage in the promotion of vocations (PA & LC)
• Promote apt candidates to priesthood (LC)
• Identify and appoint Vocation Promoters in every region and a co-ordinator for the same (PA)
• Initiate basic skill training (e.g. Arithmetic, Hindi language etc.) for the candidates in view of the future ministry (PA)
• Give greater focus on on-going formation (PA)
• Identify confreres and train them to be formators (PA)
• Initiate social exposure programme and equip with necessary skill during the period of Theology (PA & LC)

 

Education

• Improve the basic infrastructure of the existing schools (PA & LC)
• Identify and train confreres to be competent in the field of education (PA)
• Put in place a system of succession plan independent of the person in-charge (PA)
• Avail the services of professional counsellors in our schools (PA & LC)
• Managers to spend some quality working hours in the Schools (PA & LC)
• Implement the exigencies placed by the new NEP – 2020 (PA & LC)
• Get the Minority Certificates for Schools (LC)

SAIM

• Impart training for innovative ministries (PA)
• Initiate Fransalian Associates (PA & LC)
• Revitalize Youth Ministry (PA & LC)

Stewardship:

• Initiate the Registration of a Society in the Province (PA)
• Create Corpus Fund (PA)
• Revive depreciation fund for vehicles (PA)
• Open Either or Survivor Account (PA & LC)
• Open Utility Account of main Society (PA)

Varia:

• Look for a suitable and viable plot of land for establishing the Provincial House in Dibrugarh (PA)
• Request the General Administration to allocate the plot of land belonging to the erstwhile North East India Province at Dispur in Guwahati to be at the disposal of Dibrugarh Province (PA)
• Mobilize financial resources by having more confreres where the members of the erstwhile NE Province were present in Europe (PA)
• Construct presbyteries on a priority basis (PA)

Trusting in God and counting on the collaboration of all the members of Dibrugarh Province, we wish the new Provincial Administration God’s blessing to carry out the Action Plan envisaged by the First Provincial Congress of the Dibrugarh Province.
