SACRED HEART PARISH, LIKABALI
The Sacred Heart Parish was erected in the year 2009 by Rt. Rev. John Thomas DD, the Bishop of Itanagar. The Sacred Heart Parish is carved out from the existing parishes of Basar and Silapathar. Fr. Stephen Pou MSFS was installed as the first parish priest in 2009 and served the parish till 2014. Fr Peter Pehausuiding was appointed the priest incharge in the year 2016 and he was appointed as the parish priest in the year 2020. A new presbytery was constructed and the priests started residing from the year 2020. Fr Carlus was appointed as the associate priest in 2020 and Fr Jimal Johny Painapally also was appointed the associate priest from February 2021. The catholic villages under the parish are Bali, Lika, Dipa, Nyopi, Uli, Nijeeerkoche, Bukajeng and Likabali town. The 300 Catholics are spread out in 12 villages and 75 families.
