Don Bosco School, Silapathar established in the year 1971 is one of the premier English medium schools in the Dhemaji District of Assam. This is the first institution of the MSFS Northeast India Province. The school is a full-fledged institution and has classes from Nursery to 10. The first batch appeared for HSLC examinations was in the year 1982. Since that year till2015, 33 batches of students have passed HSLC examinations from Don Bosco School, Silapathar. In the year 1996, Amit Verma received eighteenth Rank, in 2001, NavinDaga received 17th Rank and in 2007, Palash Bora received 3rd Rank in SEBA Examinations. The School is affiliated to the Board of Catholic Schools-Tezpur Guwahati under the Bishop of Tezpur.

The contribution of the school to the educational development of the area is hailed by one and all. The people have benefited immensely from the dedicated quality education the MSFS have provided. Students are given ample opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities. The school is well protected with a compound wall and blessed with meadows and trees to provide shade in summer. There is a children’s park, especially for the small kids. The Holy Cross Sisters (SCC) run an independent pre-nursery school in the campus since 2006.
